Mr. Ta Ba Hung, Director of National Agency for Science and Technology Information (NASATI) (under MOST) said that Techmart 2012 was an international event which ASEAN+3 member countries have officially considered one of important S&T activities of the whole bloc, has been identified as the most important emphasizing point for the Year of S&T and EU – ASEAN Innovation.
Techmart 2012 has been organized with the topic “Linkage together with integration and sustainable development” to serve the purpose of Linking scientific research and technology development with manufacturing and business; Supporting technology innovation, improving the competition capacities, increasing the labor productivity and product quality with low costs; Respecting internal S&T capacities; Promoting commercial activities for research products, establishing and developing S&T market; Speeding technology transfer, promoting linkages together with international economic integration and sustainable development. Especially this is the integrated, multi-sectoral technology and equipment market without any limitations on fields to serve purposes of encouraging S&T organizations, enterprises, groups and individuals to offer and look for technologies and equipment in all fields.
According Doctor Ta Ba Hung, so far the preparation for Techmart 2012 has been completed. Techmart 2012 has attracted nearly 500 agencies with 520 counters registering their participation, including 30 foreign units from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Laos, China, South Korea, Japan, EU and Russia to offer more than 3,000 technologies and equipment, mainly focusing on branches which have high technology volume as mechanics - engineering, electricity - electronics – automation, chemicals – materials – pharmaceutical products – health – environmental treatment …
At the same time, during the time Techmart takes place, a series of scientific workshops would be organized with current and strategic topics of Vietnam, ASEAN and the world as clean technologies, food security, new energies, new materials, S&T achievements in agriculture and industries. In addition, outside Techmart there will workshops on partnership dialogues between Vietnam and South Korea in order to promote the cooperation on scientific exchange and technology transfer with 8 units, which have registered to make presentations, technology introduction and software solutions. Especially, virtual Techmart would be implemented for searching technologies and equipment to be offered in Techmart.
