Honouring outstanding young scientists and female students in science and technology

Outstanding young scientists and female students in the fields of science and technology were honoured with the Golden Globe Science and Technology Award and the Female Student Award in Science and Technology at a ceremony held in Ha Noi on the evening of November 8.

The event was organised by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Marking its 21st edition, the Golden Globe Science and Technology Award was widely announced to 203 agencies and organisations both domestically and internationally.

Delegates took commemorative photos at the Award Ceremony.

From 69 nominations, the 2024 Golden Globe Science and Technology Award was presented to the 10 most outstanding young talents. These include 3 individuals in the fields of information technology, digital transformation, and automation; 1 individual in medical and pharmaceutical sciences; 1 in biology; 2 in environmental science; and 3 in new materials.

Award-winners include Ngo Khac Hoang, PhD., Assistant Professor of Linköping University in Sweden; Nguyen Phuoc Vinh, PhD., University of Health Sciences under the Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM); and Pham Thanh Tuan Anh, PhD., University of Sciences under the Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM).

From a total of 114 submissions, the award council selected 20 outstanding female students to receive the Female Student Award in Science and Technology this year.

On the occasion, Tan Hiep Phat Trading-Service Co., Ltd., provided a grant of 2 billion VND through the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund to support scientific projects of the young talents who received the Golden Globe Award.
