During the meeting, the two sides have discussed current trends of applying blockchain technology in data transmission and encoding in the world. Blockchain, or so called "the engine of trust" is considered as an ideal platform for dealing with unrelated parties. The issues related to commodities quality and solvency are treated through this technology due to transparency as well as information stored on the blockchain can not be faked.
Blockchain technology also opens up new opportunities for enterprises, especially SMEs in diversified sectors such as banking and finance, e-payment, logistics and supply chain management, retail, telecommunication, health care, accounting and auditing … to approach and join in global value chains.
VISTIP and TAF actively discussed on develop a pilot project deploying blockchain technology for improving Vietnam agricultural products value chains
Vietnam - as a developing country with strengths in agriculture, how does applying blockchain technology in agricultural products value chain help to eliminate obstacles? How is the effectiveness in term of linkages among relevant stakeholders? How this technology can help SMEs in agriculture field to save costs? … Those were deeply discussed issues by both sides this time.
With the functions and tasks assigned by the Minister of Science and Technology including being the linkage between the domestic and international scientific and technological communities; supporting enterprises in applying advanced technologies, VISTIP is certain together with TAF, which has currently involved in some pioneer activities using blockchain solutions for businesses, work further for developing and soon carrying out a pilot specific project deployed blokchain technology in Vietnam agricultural products value chains. Via implementing the pilot project, both sides would like to obtain concrete evidences on benefits brought by this technology if being used properly by relevant parties./.
