The Delegation consisted of representatives from departments under the Directorate and relevant Ministries and branches as Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ha Noi Department of Science and Technology, Vietnam Electricity, Daikin Corporation and Toyota Viet Nam.
The panorama of the sessionThe 39th General Assembly of the International Organization for Standardization focused discussions on ISO’s strategy on standardization in the next 5 years from 2016 to 2020, increasing development of ISO standards on service, environmental management, energy efficiency, cyber security, road-traffic safety …, enhancing participation of State management authorities (public policy) in the development of international standards, renovating management for ISO operation system, providing technical assistance for developing countries, expanding ISO’s influence to Asia-Pacific. Up to present, ISO’s portfolio has consisted of 21,133 standards.

Besides the plenary session, Director General Tran Van Vinh had bilateral meetings with representatives of ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials), BSI (British Standards Institute), KATS (Korean Agency for Technology and Standards), SIS (Swedish Standards Institute), CEN/CENCELEC (European Committee for Standardization/European Committee for Electro-technical Standardization), DIN (German Institute for Standardization), AS (Standards Australia) and attended the 55th meeting of PASC (Pacific Area Standards Congress) to discuss on partnership directions between STAMEQ with the partners to strengthen cooperation and technical assistance, supporting in international and regional fora, sharing information on national standards in order to promote multilateral and bilateral trade in the near future.
