Forum seeks ways for Vietnamese firms to accelerate application of new technologies

The International Innovative Business Forum (IIBF) 2024, was organised in Ho Chi Minh City on June 12 by the Business Association of High-Quality Vietnamese Products.

Themed ‘Applying new technology to strengthen internal strength and create a breakthrough for Vietnamese businesses’, the forum gathered nearly 300 businesses, experts, and speakers.

Addressing the event, Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat, stressed that technology transfer, application, and innovation play a crucial role in increasing productivity of product quality as well as enhancing business competitiveness.

He noted that technology capacity is a key factor for businesses to produce products and services with competitive or superior characteristics, meeting the market's increasing demands, particularly in international integration through new-generation free trade agreements (FTAs) and the influence of the fourth Industrial Revolution.

He called on businesses to apply systematic measures to absorb and renovate technologies, gradually moving towards technological autonomy and green and sustainable technology.

He pledged that the Ministry of Science and Technology will closely continue to work with the Business Association of High-Quality Vietnamese Products, in helping its members seek cooperation opportunities with new international partners and approach new technological advances.

He also asked the association to strengthen connections between domestic businesses and global technology suppliers, to enhance productivity, product quality, and the competitiveness of Vietnamese firms.
