The annual festival, the biggest of its kind, has been jointly organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology along with other ministries, sectors, localities and socio-political organisations.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Van Tung said that the goal of Techfest Vietnam 2021 is to promote innovative solutions from innovative start-ups in response to the pandemic and contribute to economic recovery; as well as to promote the formation of open innovative thinking, solving problems and challenges posed in society, in the context of the epidemic and the needs of large enterprises and corporations.
The event also aimed to attract resources from experts, intellectuals, domestic entrepreneurs and overseas Vietnamese to support Vietnamese innovative start-ups, he noted.
Techfest Vietnam 2021 included a series of activities held in online form such as conferences, seminars, and investment connections. The highlight is the competition and training of 16 technology villages, which will last from September to December 2021.
Also at the ceremony, the national innovation start-up talent search competition was officially launched. The contest aims to find and support Vietnamese start-ups and innovative businesses at home and abroad with their efforts to transform, adapt, and develop, thus contributing to performing the dual task of effective epidemic prevention and control and socio-economic development in the new normal.
Businesses participating in the contest will also have the opportunity to receive financial prizes as well as the opportunity to interact with more than 50 domestic and international funds and investors at the contest.
