Vietnamese’s standards of IT skills are equivalent to Japanese ones

According to this Agreement, standards of IT skills applied in tests as the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE), Applied Programming Engineers (AP) and Information Technology Passport (IP) used in Vietnam by VITEC Training Center (the center under the Management Board of Hòa Lạc High Tech Park) are equivalent to respective IT standards used in Japan by IPA. Delivering a speech in the Signing Ceremony, Mr. Ogawa Kenji, Deputy Director of IPA’s Center for Human Resource Development highly appreciated results VITEC has achieved in more than 10 years of cooperation as more than 10,000 Vietnamese candidates have participated in tests, among that more than 1,000 candidates achieving results have been granted with certificates by the Minister of Science and Technology. Vietnam has always ranked the first in terms of the numbers of candidates participating in tests as well as the rate of passed candidates in comparison with those of countries which participate in the regional Information Technology Professional Engineering Council (ITPEC).

In the same day, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Trần Việt Thanh had a meeting with the Japanese mission. In the meeting, the Deputy Minister thanked the support of IPA and METI for Vietnam in the development of IT human resource, highly appreciated cooperation results between IPA and VITEC, at the same time committed to support and create favorable conditions so that the cooperation would be more and more effective.
